Now that you aware of the benefits of opening the third eye chakra, here is a meditation practice you can try to open (awaken) or balance your third eye chakra:

Meditation Practice – To Open Your Third Eye Chakra

Step 1: Take out 10 – 15 minutes of uninterrupted quiet time for yourself. Do this meditation twice a day if time permits otherwise once a day.
Step 2: Sit cross-legged on the floor or seated on a chair. Make sure your spine is straight, lift your shoulders up and close your eyes.
Step 3: Take few deep breaths (at least 5 deep breaths) and relax your body.
Step 4: With your eyes closed, bring your attention between your eyebrows.
Step 5: With each inhale imagine a deep purple glowing light expanding around your third eye center. As you exhale it decreases and then grows bigger and brighter with each inhale.
Step 6: As you settle in the rhythm, repeat this mantra: I am connected to the higher self and now I am guided on the right path. Repeat this mantra as often as you want.
Step 7: As you near the finish, release your eyes and take three deep breaths and relax. Open your eyes slowly and thank the source for the guidance.

How To Know If Your Third Eye Is Open ?

While majority of the change will be within yourself however there are signs that will help you know if your third eye chakra is open.

Sensation between eyebrows: When your third eye chakra is opening you will feel a sensation between your eyebrows.
Increased intuition: With the opening of third eye, your intuition will naturally increase. You will be more present and guided by your inner wisdom.
Increased confidence: When your third eye opens, you tend to be more self-reliant. You feel more confident and trust the path laid down by your inner guidance.
